Passes to the Media Center from Directed Study

Students in Directed Study who would like to be in the media center need to follow these 3 steps. 

1. Get a LibraryTrac Pass 
   • Availability varies daily. 
   • Students should receive a confirmation email 
2. Go to Directed Study, and get a SmartPass. 
   • Students with a directed study pass MUST check in with their directed study teacher. 
   • Then for permission to walk through the halls, they will get a SmartPass for the Media Center. 
   • Teachers have access to the list of students who request a pass each period

     • If students are not on the list for the correct period, their pass is INVALID, and they should remain in directed study. If you have any questions, call the Media Center (8821)
3. Sign-in when they get to the media center. 
   • Cyndi or I will check that all students with a pass sign-in and that all students who sign-in with a directed study pass have a LibraryTrac Pass. 

If the student does not include the correct teacher name, you can say the pass is invalid.  (I want it to be easy for you to find the students in your study.)

Passes from class

You are welcome to send students to the media center during class.

• To check out a book
• To print from a computer
• To get research help
• Etc.

Send them with a SmartPass to the Media Center. 

• SmartPasses to the Media Center are a One-Way pass.

• Student will get a new one-way SmartPass from the Media Center when they return to class. 

   

Who needs a pass? 

• Freshmen, Sophomores, and Juniors who plan to be in the media center during a directed study.

  • LibraryTrac Pass AND a SmartPass

  • LibraryTrac Passes are ONLY valid for students in directed study. 

• Students coming from a class with permission from the teachers

  • SmartPass

  • This could be for printing, checking out a book, getting research help, etc. 

  • SmartPasses to the Media Center are one-way passes. We will have students get a new SmartPass to return to class.

Who does NOT need a pass?

• Seniors in common study do not need a pass.

• Students in VHS.
