Start Your Website Template (Week of April 13-17)

For Your Impact Project

  1. Start a website this week, so that you can add information to it throughout the rest of this semester as you explore your topic. 
  2. We will provide a Google Site Template.
    1. Your link is next to your name in the blue column. 
  3. Your Website for your Impact Project will include pages. 
    1. An "About Me" page - complete this week
    2. Subtopic 1 - leave empty this week
    3. Subtopic 2 - leave empty this week
    4. Subtopic 3 - leave empty this week
    5. A "Make an Impact" page - leave empty this week
  4. Complete the "About Me" page
    1. Brief introduction about yourself
      1. Name, grade, interests, etc. 
    2. Describe your topic.
    3. Why did you choose this topic?
    4. How can your project impact others?
    5. Include a picture of yourself, or a picture that represents yourself.
  5. Step 4: Make a Plan. 

You are building the website this week. You are not required to add content at this time. For information about what will eventually go on these pages, see right hand column below. 

The tutorial below will show you how to make a Google Site with the required pages.

​Your Google Site for the Impact Project will include the following pages: 

  • An "About Me" page which will include
    • Brief information about yourself (school, grade, interests, etc.)
    • An introduction into your topic and why it was chosen
  • 3 Subtopic Pages
    • A summary of your research or evidence of your progress
    • A reflection
    • Citations for sources used for this subtopic 
  • A "Make an Impact" page with a plan that includes
    • Who you could share this project with
    • How it could be a benefit
    • How it can (or will) be shared
