Capstone Program

Capstone Exhibition Program

The Capstone Exhibition Program at Shrewsbury High School is an opportunity for students to conduct an in-depth independent study project. Students apply to the program by submitting project ideas. If selected, they will begin the project during the 2nd semester of their Junior year, and complete it during the 1st semester of their Senior year. With support from the Capstone advisor, students explore a topic of personal interest, which could include projects related to science, language, history, art, music, technology, exercise/fitness, mindfulness, writing, or performance.

The Capstone project culminates in January of their Senior year with presentations to faculty, staff, friends, and family. Students use this opportunity to share their journey with others. Students will then celebrate their learning and accomplishments through a day-long Capstone showcase in the media center. Classes from across the school come to view the presentation artifacts and discuss the projects with Capstone students.
